All Chopin Concert by Nina Kuzma-Sapiejewska

Nina Kuzma-Sapiejewska, well known Polish pianist and a specialist in the music of Chopin, will perform an all-Chopin recital on Friday, May 13, at 7:30 PM, at the Kosciuszko Foundation. Tickets are $15, and can be reserved by calling the Foundation Office at 212.734.2130.

Her program includes the "Funeral March" Sonata, Op. 35, as well as a selection of Nocturnes, Waltzes, the Opp. 31 and 39 Scherzi, and the "Heroic" Polonaise, Op. 53.

Nina Kuzma-Sapiejewska is among the finest examples of today's brilliantly talented and versatile musicians. Born in Warsaw, Poland, she received her formal education at the Music Lyceum in Bydgoszcz and at the Conservatory of Gdansk. Nina Sapiejewska continued her studies at The Juilliard School in New York with Jacob Lateiner as well as at the Tanglewood, Aspen and Ambler Music Festivals. She has been invited to perform as recitalist and guest soloist with symphony orchestras in America and in Europe. Her tours have taken her to North and South America, Europe, Turkey and Egypt. She has recorded for major radio and TV stations in Europe, New York and Washington, DC In 1991, she was invited to play Chopin in New York's Town Hall for the former President of Poland, Mr. Lech Walesa, during his historic visit to the United States.

She has performed recitals on the SS France and SS Queen Elizabeth 2 during their trans-Atlantic voyages, and has been invited to play at festivals in Italy and Norway, and in Poland at the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki, Poland. She has given many recitals at Zelazowa Wola, Poland, Chopin's birthplace, and at the Chopin Monument in the Lazienki Park, Warsaw. She is acknowledged as a foremost interpreter of the music of Poland's greatest composer, and a performer of compelling energy.
