The Sembrich Voice Scholarship Competition of the Kosciuszko Foundation
Saturday March 18, 2006 at 10 a.m.
Hunter College's Lang Recital Hall.
Sembrich Memorial Association Awards $1,500 Prize.
Dozens of gifted young singers from across the country have signed up to compete; First Prize is $1500, with secondary prizes of $750 and $500. The Winner is also traditionally invited to the Moniuszko International Voice Competition in Warsaw, next held in Spring 2008. The Competition is open to the public, and no ticket is required. (Hunter College is at 69th Street, between Park and Lexington Avenues. The Lang Recital Hall is on the 4th Floor). The Szymanowski Quartet, from Warsaw, in its debut American tour, will be giving its only New York City concert on Sunday March 19 at 3 PM at the Kosciuszko Foundation. Their program includes works of Szymanowski, Schubert, and Mozart. Tickets are $25 ($20 KF members) and include a reception with the artists following the concert.
