Director of Cultural Affairs Cellist Thaddeus Brys Featured in February 23 Concert at The Kosciuszko Foundation. Cellist Thaddeus Brys is featured in concert on Friday, February 23 at 8 PM at the Kosciuszko Foundation (15 East 65th Street). Pianist Susan Brys will accompany the program, which includes music of Locatelli, Brahms, Shostakovich and Piatigorsky. Tickets, which include a reception with the artists, are $20 ($10 for KF members) and can be reserved by calling the Foundation Office at (212) 734-2130. A native New Yorker, Thaddeus Brys taught cello and chamber music at Louisiana State University, concertized widely in the United States and abroad, and is now active as soloist and chamber music collaborator. He toured as a chamber player with Columbia Concerts and recorded with the Vivaldi Society and Centaur Records. Brys received his training at the Mannes College of music and the Juilliard School, and studied with the legendary Pablo Casals in France and at Marlboro, Vermont. Susan Brys, a student of Artur Balsam, Nadia Reisenberg and Jack Guerry, has toured as an accompanist and chamber player throughout the United States and Europe, and is a former member of the Baton Rouge Symphony. This year's Winter Tour takes the two performers to universities and arts centers in five states, concluding with a recital on February 23 at the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City.
