Jack Radgowski Receives Kosciuszko Foundation Medal of Recognition

Jack Radgowski was honored with the Kosciuszko Foundation's Medal of Recognition on Saturday, April 26, at the Foundation's 68th Annual Dinner and Dance at the Waldorf=Astoria in New York. Radgowski was honored for his outstanding support of the Polish American community and his extraordinary life achievements. In making the presentation, Joseph E. Gore, KF President and Executive Director, cited Radgowski's longtime commitment and generosity.


"As a person, as a Polish American, as a successful and creative businessman, Jack Radgowski stands as a model to all of us. He is as pure a friend of Polish culture as I have known." The Kosciuszko Foundation's Medal of Recognition was established in 1955 to honor special friends have significantly contributed to its mission. Previous recipients include Zbigniew Brzezinski, Ambassador Jerzy Kozminski, Edward Smith of Morgan Guaranty and Michael G. Sendzimir of T. Sendzimir Inc.

Jack Radgowski is CEO of Central Semiconductor Corporation (Hauppauge, New York) which he founded in 1974. Central began by manufacturing transistors and similar electronic devices when other companies (such as Motorola and Texas Instruments) were shifting to silicon technologies. Over 30 years the company has become an internationally recognized quality manufacturer of discrete semiconductors. It was named as one to watch in the "Movers and Shakers of 2002" edition of Reed Business Publication magazine. A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Radgowski has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Prior to founding Central Semiconductor with his late wife, Dorothy, Mr. Radgowski held numerous engineering and managerial positions. He has worked with Litton Industries, Bendix Semiconductor, General Instrument Corp. and CSR Industries, Inc., where he served as president.

A native of the New York metropolitan area, Mr. Radgowski is a long- time and very generous supporter of the Polish-American community and of The Kosciuszko Foundation in particular. Mr .Radgowski is also active in supporting the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences, the Polish Gift of life, the Polish American Museum, the Polish American Dancers of Long Island {Hejnal), the Polish National Club and AMPOLA.

His wide community service includes membership on the Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Suffolk County, as well as involvement and support of the Family Service league, the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Mather Hospital and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He is a member and supporter of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception and a member of the Bishop's Council of Stewards of the Diocese of Rockville Center. In recent years he has been the sponsor of the annual Pilgrimage to Medjugorje for individuals contemplating a vocation to the priesthood.

Mr. Radgowski is also a Patron of the Carnegie Hall Foundation and a supporter of the long Island Philharmonic and the Harbor Country Day School.

Mr. Radgowski's support of The Kosciuszko Foundation reaches into many areas, chief among them the support of the presentation of Moniuszko's "Halka", the Gala Chopin Concert at Alice Tully Hall, and two Carnegie Hall concerts by the Sinfonia Varsovia.
